Copper Bullets off to Turkey

The Zambia National Team has left for Turkey for the international window where they are scheduled to play two international friendly matches.

The team left aboard Ethiopian Airlines at Kenneth Kaunda international Airport at 15:00hrs and will connect to Istanbul from Addis Ababa.

Zambia plays Congo Brazzaville on Friday in the first match of the FIFA window.

Chipolopolo boss Aljosa Asanovic has left with Fifteen players, namely Tandi Mwape Evans Kangwa, Kings Kangwa, Gamphani Lungu, Toaster Nsabata, Roderick Kabwe , Clatous Chama, Charles Kalumba, Prince Mumba, Lawrence Mulenga, Miguel Chaiwa, Prosper Chiluya, Benedict Chepeshi, Kelvin Kampamba and Dominic Chanda.

Frankie Chisenga Musonda, Lameck Banda and USA-based defender Aimé Mabika are the first three players to arrive in Turkey ahead of the two international friendly matches.

The remaining batch of European based players led by skipper Enock Mwepu will join camp directly in Antalya where Zambia will set up base.

Asanovic is using the FIFA window to prepare for the June round of the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

  1. Good Team. I wish this was the team that played against Iraq. The Iraq friendly had media attention a bit. The Stadium was packed and those Iraqis deserved to see a stronger Zambian team and not that embarrassing performance.
