Congo change match venue as Chipolopolo hold final training

All is set for Sunday’s Gabon 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Zambia and Congo.

The Chipolopolo arrived in Congo on Friday morning and had their first training session in Brazaville at the annex pitch of the Alphonse Massamba-Débat Stadium later in the afternoon.

On Saturday morning, the team took a walk from the Ramada Hotel to the banks of the Congo River. Coach George Lwandamina stated that the walk was part of the aerobics training for the team.

The Congo Football Federation announced today that the match venue has been changed from the 20,000 seater Alphonse Massamba-Débat Stadium to the 80,000 seater new Kintele Stadium in Kintele located North of Brazzaville due to security reasons.

The Chipolopolo this afternoon held the final training session at the giant Kintele stadium ahead of the game tomorrow.

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga along with Executive Committee Members Brenda Kunda and Lee Kawanu and FAZ Club Licencing Manager Erick Mwanza are part of the delegation in Congo with the Chipolopolo

The game will kickoff at 1630hrs CAT.

    • Thanks to Congo to reconsider the capacity of stadium…. Zambia will attract so many Congo-Brazivilians, and being a Easter day 80,000 sitter is better than 20,000

  1. It’s going to be tough out there. If we apply ourselves properly we can get a good result provided Guinea bissau don’t score first otherwise it will be a toll order

  2. It shall be well. We just need to believe. Congo struggle at home and are very much beatable. Zambia has in the past faced bigger matches than this we have won. The boys just need to put the house in order, go into the game with the right attitude and poboo, Zambia will carry the day.

  3. No excuses, when you are beaten accept it. We dont want to hear: we didnt arrive early, this player didnt play, the referee this, they didnt treat us well, there was a change in venue. Go congo, go!!!

  4. GO ZAMBIA GO !!! DONT WORY FELLOW FANS WE VE GONE TO CONGO TO COLLECT THREE POINTS NT TO SHARE. ZAMBIA 2 AND CONGO 1

  5. it will be tough but its 50 50. but Zambia can carry the day nicely. upfront its better to use katongo and kalengo. MBESUMA is slow although deadly upfront.

  6. Ba George plz play mbesuma and kalengo as twin strikers, we wil score more goals, do not allow mbesuma to be droping in the midfield let him stick upfront with kalengo.

  7. Collins will destroy congo today mark words and we should play two defensive midfielders (Chansa and Sinkala)in the first half.In the second half we change- Lubambo should come in for chansa depending on the situation in the pitch. And do not rest Chris because he is capable of doing anything at anytime especially that Mbesuma and Kalengo will be tightly marked. To me, this the only change i can make to the starting lineup unless otherwise.

  8. Apparently, there are reports indicating that Sunzu is suspended for this match as he has accumulated two yellow cards. Thats sad.

  9. Sunzu is replaceable as we saw matches in the past when he was injured.it is the strikers and midfilders who should do the job after all we have a host of talent there. I also feel conlyde luchanga should be given the last 15 minutes replacing mbesuma who by 75 minute should be tired as he works very hard in most games dropping in the mid and moving upfront.luchanga has quick feet an eye for the goal.his work rate is very high upfront as i have observed.katongo ,i also feel he should stay on the field longer than mbesuma.we should also beside luchanga try chansa or salulani in the second half.to me our team is balanced and just need to apply good technical and tactical approaches.knowing when to accerelate, slow the game ,cross and improve on corners which u feel is our biggest weakness.awin is abinus to me though ascoring draw is not abad result especially if we can score two goals,it brings confidence to strikers and eventually the who team. However, an advice to my fellow fans is that we should bear in mind that amatch has 3 results, win, loose and draw.lets accept the outcomes as we play for awin away.goodluck to chipolopolo faithfuls.JABRIMS 10
