Zanaco football club registered their third straight win in the MTN/FAZ Super League on Wednesday as they thrashed Nakambala Leopards 5-1 in a Rescheduled week 9 encounter match played at Sunset Stadium.
This was Coach Chris Kaunda’s fourth straight win since he took over from Numba Mumamba. Kaunda believes the win will be used as a motivation factor ahead of Zanaco’s duty in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday against Motema pembe however the approach will be different.
Kaunda has also called on fans to come out in numbers to support the bankers as they are representing the country.
“We are taking each game as it comes and it’s a good for preparation match ahead of Sunday’s game, we saw positives so we just need to build on the boys have started understanding me and the kind of football I like and that’s very important,” he said.
“It will be a very different ball game and the approach will be very different as well but we were very Cautious the whole ninety minutes but we got one injury which is not very serious, so will see what happens on Sunday hoping people will support us when Zesco United or Zanaco is playing it’s not about the club but the country and nation at Stake so we expect a lot of people to come and support us.”
Kaunda is delighted that players are now free to express themselves because this is what they do daily.
“The players have started understanding me what I like and what I don’t like, I like players who express themselves because this is their job they need to enjoy and it all about Football, we are from playing good passing football but at the end of the day they are learning what we need is patience,” he said.
The Bankers are now 12th on the log table with 22 points after playing 16 games.
On Sunday the return back to Continental duty as they host DR Congo side Motema Pembe in a matchday five encounter needing only a win to remain in contention to progress to the next round.
