Green Eagles football club brew away a chance to go back to the top of the 2019/20 Mtn Super League after they played out to a scoreless draw with Nakambala Leopards away in Mazabuka.
Green Eagles started the day in second place one point behind leaders Nkana football club having played a game less and needed a win to leapfrog the Kitwe based outfit.
Green Eagles head coach Aggrey Chiyangi came to the defense of his players after missing chances in the match. Chiyangi says its normal to record such results and he is not disappointed.
“I do not think it can be a frustration to miss chances when a person as a chance to score and he misses it just happens that he has missed. Whatever was happening on the pitch did not frustrate the players from getting the positive result,” he said.
“I am not disappointed that we have failed to win, that is what we a call a league, we are still in the competition,” he said.
Green Eagles’ next game is away in Lusaka against the rejuvenated Army side Green Buffaloes football club.
“It will be a different game, we are going for the maximum points,” he added.
