Chitiya late goal earn Zesco bragging Ndola derby rights

Striker Chitiya ‘The Bishop’ Mususu came off the bench to score the winning goal to earn Zesco United victory against Buildcon in the Ndola derby on Sunday.

Zesco United survived a late scare from the ‘Money bags’ as they almost blew away a two goal caution in an exciting five goal thriller.

First half goals from Kelvin Mubanga ‘Kemuka’ Kampumbu and defender Samson Mkandawire saw Zesco United cruising in a one sided half.

Zambia striker Brian Mwila pulled one back for Buildcon from the spot before substitute Chitiya restored Zega Mambo’s 2-goal caution in the 89th minutes.

Former Zambia Under-20 burly striker Patrick ‘Dudey’ Ngoma scored a sumptuous header to leave Kenyan goalkeeper Ian Otieno stunned as give a nail biting finish to the match.

Zesco United and Buildcon are now level on 18 points, with the former having played two matches less.

Elsewhere Zambia Under-20 striker Derrick Bulaya scored a brace to end Green Buffaloes’ unbeaten run as the log leaders suffered a 2-0 loss away at Independence Stadium in Choma while ZESCO United edged Buildcon in a five-goal thriller to claim bragging rights to the city of Ndola.
