First half goals from Kelvin Mubanga ‘Kemuka’ Kampumbu and defender Samson Mkandawire saw Zesco United cruising in a one sided half.
Zambia striker Brian Mwila pulled one back for Buildcon from the spot before substitute Chitiya restored Zega Mambo’s 2-goal caution in the 89th minutes.
Former Zambia Under-20 burly striker Patrick ‘Dudey’ Ngoma scored a sumptuous header to leave Kenyan goalkeeper Ian Otieno stunned as give a nail biting finish to the match.
Zesco United and Buildcon are now level on 18 points, with the former having played two matches less.
Elsewhere Zambia Under-20 striker Derrick Bulaya scored a brace to end Green Buffaloes’ unbeaten run as the log leaders suffered a 2-0 loss away at Independence Stadium in Choma while ZESCO United edged Buildcon in a five-goal thriller to claim bragging rights to the city of Ndola.
