Chipolopolo win away in Yaounde

The Chipolopolo Boys recorded their second win of  the 2025 AFCON qualifiers following a narrow 1-0 win over Chad.

Kennedy Musonda scored the only goal of the match in the 70th minute with a close range finish.

Goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata came up big as he saved a penalty in the second half to make sure the Avram Grant coached side walked away with maximum points.

Zambia was without a number of key players namely Patson Daka, Lameck Banda, Lubambo Musonda, Stophila Sunzu who are injured while Clatous Chota Chama and Evans Kangwa were excused.

The win means Zambia move to seven points on the log table,  two adrift of log leaders Ivory Coast who suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Sierra Leone.

Zambia will host Cote d’Ivoire next month before travelling to Monrovia for the final Group G match against the Leone Stars.

The Leone Stars moved to four points while Chad is rock bottom with two points.
