Chipolopolo Test Estadio Do Zimpeto

The Chipolopolo boys had a feel of the Estadio Do Zimpeto which will host the first leg of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier between Zambia and Mozambique this afternoon.

Zambia trained from the match venue at 15:00 hours (CAT) on Saturday with coach Aljosa Asanovic running the rule on his troops..

The Estadio Do Zimpeto will be hosting a match for the first time in eight months after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) gave the mambas a temporal reprieve.

Mozambique has been playing its home matches in South Africa after its stadia were deemed unfit to host international matches.
However, the mambas will be back home albeit not before a full house as CAF has nodded 20, 000 fans to attend the match in the 42, 000 capacity facility.

The Chipolopolo is without the injured Spencer Sautu while Cyril Chibwe and Prince Mumba are in a race for a late fitness test after having picked up minor injuries.

Zambia and Mozambique will kick off their two-legged contest this afternoon before concluding their battle on July 30 in Lusaka at the National Heroes Stadium.

Kickoff time is 15:00 hours (CAT).

Winner over two legs will face Malawi in the final qualifying round.

The Flames walked through to the final round after Zimbabwe could not play their game owing to a FIFA ban.

CHAN is a competition exclusive to players plying their trade in the domestic league.
