Zambia national team defender Aime Mabika has been named in the United States of America Major Soccer League team of the week.
This follows, Mabika’s impressive performance in Inter Miami’s 1-0 win at Seattle Sounders FC.
The 23 year old who was born in Zambia to Congolese parents before they migrated to the United States was handed his first national team call-up by Chipolopolo coach Aljosa Asanovic during the March FIFA window.
Mabika maintained a stellar 85.4% passing accuracy while making two key interceptions and eight clearances in the defensive third, playing a key role in organizing the Inter Miami defense to prevent any of Seattle’s 20 shots from threatening the lead.
Mabika’s inclusion is his first appearance in an MLS Team of the Week.

Mabika is joined by Ruben Gabrielsen (Austin FC) and Mamadou Fall (LAFC) to anchor the three man defense.
San Jose Earthquakes striker Jeremy Ebobisse and Nashville SC attacker Hany Mukhtar each bagged braces and have made it to the team.
The star performer of the week is New York City FC striker Taty Castellanos who scored an incredible four-goals in a 6-0 thrashing of Real Salt Lake.
