The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has confirmed that the Copper Bullets will face Congo Brazzaville on Friday, 25th March instead of Angola.
Chipolopolo Boys were suppose to face Angola in Portugal but the Palancas Negras pulled out due to administrative reasons.
FAZ have however quickly sorted out a replacement, Congo Brazzaville who the team will face in Antalya, Turkey.
FAZ President, Andrew Kamanga confirmed the development in his weekly President’s corner.
“We are keeping our fingers crossed to see what the technical bench is cooking during the two international matches. Our coaches are expected to unveil some new prospects during the two matches on March 25 in Turkey and the second one in Paris on March 29,” Kamanga said.
“These two friendly matches will be critical in providing a status report of the players as we prepare for crucial encounters ahead. We will engage Congo Brazzaville in Antalya and Guinea Conakry in Paris.”
“It is never easy clinching and organizing international friendly matches but we have gone an extra mile to ensure that our team is provided an opportunity to play preparatory matches during the FIFA window,” he added.
Zambia suffered a 3-1 away in Iraq on Friday in Aljosa Asanovic’s first international friendly match at helm as head coach.
Asanovic is using the FIFA window to prepare for the June round of the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
