The Zambia National Soccer team has arrived safely in Niger. Chipolopolo landed at about midnight. The team has been accommodated at Tenere Hotel in central Niamey the capital city.

The team arrived at about midnight and is expected to have one training session this afternoon at the match venue.

With Stoppila Sunzu missing the trip, coach Honour Janza is expected to name Nkana FC defender Christohpher Munthali alongside Zesco United’s Nyambe Mulenga in central defence.

  1. All the best Zambia. We need to win this one. Any result other than a win will spell doom for Zambia as we will have start using mathematics to see if we will qualify. Big Up SS4 as we will have the chance to watch the match.
On another note, just what happened to Zamfoot?

  2. Thats better FAZ and GRZ,no excuse for losing this time. Dont wory people, the partneship of Nyambe Mulenga and Muntali will hold, plus missing Sunzu will make everyone put in 120%. Up front we can start with Jacob and Chamanga and later fuse in Mayuka and captain chris.either situmbeko or musakanya to be given a run on the wings too for fwayo who i feel should not start

  3. My starting 11.
    1. D. Munyau
    2. K. Chongo
    3. R. Kabwe
    4. N. Mulenga
    5. C. Munthali
    6. N. Sinkala
    7. C. Katongo
    8. L. Chisamba
    9. E. Mayuka
    10. J. Mulenga
2nd half,Katongo out for Fwayo and Mayuka out for Situmbeko that Kalaba takes up position 9,the guy has hunger for goals.Mbola cn oso b given a run in 2nd half.

  4. @scotch. how do u start mayuka who doesnt c game time. better the other way round or Mayuka comes in for singiluma who sees regular game time.

  5. 4 wat happend to our beloved zamfoot some few weeks ago,I wnt to ask members that we shd create a whatsapp group as an updates backup incase anythng goes wrong again. My phone number is +265884308209. Jst txt’ add me,’am creating the whatsapp grp right nw.& The grp wl b of much value wen I get more numbers 4rm u guys.

  6. @F-15,I feel Mayuka has hunger to impress ths time, and am 100% he’l bring samthng to the table. He’l b itchng to regain confidence we had in him.

  7. Every thing has being done, we are in Niger in good time, now we wait for the results. My starting line should be!
    1 munyao 2 k Chongo 3 Rodrick 4 Nyambe 5 muntali 6 Nathan 7 katongo 8 chisamba 9 Kalaba 10 sate sate 11 Jacob.
After 30min if nothing happened then introduce singuma on sate sate then mayuka on Jacob, katongo with situbeko .

  8. @Big Steve,Mweene seems to heavy thez days and he concedes goals whch any otha serious international goalkeeper cn easily deal wth.In Cabo verde, the 1st goal would hv easily bn delt wth by the likes of Munyau, who cn stretch hmself.Mweene does nt jst fly towards the ball cz he’s overweight. And he’s usually lucky cz Zambia knws hw to hold possession 4 long,there4 he’s neva testd much,bt if he ws a goal keeper of a team like Sudan,he’d b conceding alot goals.the guy concedest many goals per shorts on target.even in Ghana,he costed us that game,cz the ball passd right btn hs hands 4rm ova 20m away imagine.

  9. Hope the guys are ready for some physical approach from the Niger guys….the Mozambicans got battered and bruised for their 1 all draw…ALL THE BEST TO THE 2012 CHAMPS….lets do it again…!

  10. I am not expecting alot from this team. We have a coach that is very inexperienced and lacks the technical know-how to read a game. We have unknown character in Nico who was clearly appointed out of desperation and panic by Kalusha.#PATHETIC!

  11. Viva Chipolopolo. We really need this win.A flamboyant scoreline would send warning signals to our Rivals.Let’s go boys! You can do it!!

  12. I am not expecting alot from this team. We have a coach that is very inexperienced and lacks the technical know-how to read a game. We have unknown character in Nico who was clearly appointed out of desperation and panic by Kalusha.

    • Nico is a great approach,u shud learn to see good not overly criticising,u prefer janza sacked all togetha? He brings technicality n wat more with chintu now certified in Germany as a coach

  13. Mweene has cost us on several occassions;
Last year Away in Ghana he allowed silly Goals; again in Cape verde he conceded silly Goals; He is overweight and less acrobatic than any of his assistants. Jacob’s positioning is poor and cannot face defenders, Kalaba must improve his positioning as well, he is usually caught offside and this frustrates the team efforts, Mbola does not deliver crosses.

The best Approach for me would be a 4,4, 2 as it allows intelligent players to express themselves and opens up the game unlike the 4,5,1 which overcrowds players in the midfield and allows underperforming players to hide in the performance of others and its difficult for the coach to indentify where there is a problem as player have the tendancy of switching positions constantly and this can confuse the approach to the Game.
    My Best Line Up in Niger, could be as follows;

    1. Munyao
    2. Kabaso Chongo/donashano
    3. Rodrick Kabwe
    4. Munthali/ Kayawe Kapota
    5. Nyambe Mulenga
    6. Nathan Sinkala
    7. Jacob Mulenga (Better in the wings because he can run)
    8. Rainford Kalaba (he is more focussed on this role)
    9.Emmanuel Mayuka
    10. Chris Katongo (has lost a bit of speed to play in the wings but a good goal poacher)
    11. Chisamba Lungu ( he can express himself more on the wings)

    Substitutions;
    Bring in
‘Kokoliko Master’ Julius Situmbeko for Jacob Mulenga
    James Chamanga for Katongo and
    Fwayo Tembo for Chisamba Lungu
If possible the young Charles Zulu can come in to replace any of the wingers

    • i like your suggestion.we have the same eyesight.the 442 formation works better for zambia.we just need a positve result in this game.not a draw but a win

  14. @Paradox,these web pages do nt guarantee us 100% availability. And considering the fact that some ppl hv slow internet in their areas, whatsapp will do them gd.It may also help us to follow up any blogger who goes missing from the site as we’l hv direct contact 4 to them, for example, right nw Justice Lukanga Kafusha is nowhere to b seen.goal alerts and otha heart taking updates need to b passed on immediately to othas and only whatsapp can serve better for that.We r nt trying to discard zamfoot in ths way,but creating a backup. The zamfoot clue is well organised and they r usually the 1st to update any1 who doesnt watch the game live,on Ss or whcheva channel,cz they acompany the team evn during training.mayb, lets hear wat otha bloggers r suggesting.cm in,guys

  15. Come on guys, @ Scotch,Chefsokafan and gode Mweene is our best goalkeeper, looking at our previous goal stoppers Effored Chabala,James Phiri Daves Phiri and Kennedy Mweene these are the best goal keeper Zambia has ever had,Mweene body is good for a goli

  16. Mweene has grown big headed, he is conceding silly goals, I think munyao can do better than that, no one has a permanent position in the National team, with the defense that we have in Zambia we need quick and energetic goal keeper nt the one who is becoming like a wrestler, too big for a keeper.

  17. Come on guys @ Scotch,Chiefsokafan and Gode guys that is a big joke to put Kennedy Mweene on the bench ahead of Munyau. having a bit of body helps as a goal stopper. When we look back, Effored Chabala had a body for me was the best goal Keeper Zambia has had. James Phiri had a body also only Davis Phiri had no body. Mweene is one of the best goal stopper Zamnbia has ever produced.

  18. We are doomed with Janza and Nico as coaches. Kalusha Bwalya and his entire FAZ executive should resign should we fail to qualify to AFCON 2015. Enough is enough. We have a pathetic record in the qualifiers in West Africa. The best result that we can come away with is a draw. We will be humiliated again!

  19. @gode Kennedy Mweene is good remember he commands his defense ok,just like ba late Effored Chabala, the only thing Mweene does not do is to insults his defense, Ba Effored used to be vocal, ” calling John Soko and others ati iwe chikala, we could even hear him shout from the back ground.

  20. I met Mweene two weeks ago. He is not heavy as some guys here. He is slim and fit. You watch these guys on TV and sometimes cameras do not show the exact shape of a player. I chatted with him for a while and he assured me that Zambia will qualify to Morocco. He said the Cape Verde team was difficult as the guys arrived the same day and a few hours later they were playing and o an artificial pitch. He also said it was very hot.

  21. @ Scotch I don’t agree with your assertion on Kennedy. If there is a goal keeper with vision and strict control of his backline it is Kennedy. Your assertion that because we don’t get as many shots on goal is the reason Kennedy is not exposed is totally wrong. The reason we don’t get as many shots on goal is because Kennedy marshals his backline effectively through his ability to read the game and as such his instructions to his back four curtail the chance of shots on goal. It’s a huge benefit if we have such leadership rather than have a goal keeper who has to keep diving all over the place because he can’t marshal the back line effectively. Yes Kennedy has conceded some silly goals, no doubt, but his overall leadership at the back, his goal scoring capacity from the penalty spot and aerial ball capabilities put him far far above the young Danny. Look at Wayne Sandilands, you don’t get a goal keeper more acrobatic and fleet footed but pound for pound Kennedy is an overall superior goal keeper hence no matter what team he moves to in the PSL he will hold down a 1st team spot. We simply at the moment don’t have a goal keeper that can match Kennedy and that is actually a very sad thing because it spells doom for the day Kennedy retires form international soccer.

  22. The game will be played between two team that have, hitherto, have been under-performing and both teams are still habouring hopes of coming back into contention, at least, for the runners-up position. Therefore, at the end of the day, it shall be the team that would be more hungry to go TO Morocco that will make it. It will also be nice to see how Janza’s former lectuer, Nico performs under his former student. We need to win this game in order to change the trend of poor string of away results. I also feel, Mayuka, once given a chance, will be out to impress not only Janza and Nico but his Southampton coach as well. He has already shown that he knows what to do in front of the goal mouth by hitting the net four times against the low-ranked K-Stars. For those who are worried that Mayuka has been a regular sitter on the bench, you have to bear in mind that a player cannot score from the bench, he has to be on the pitch playing.
We should not underrate Niger the way we underrated Mozambique at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

  23. @ Billy, Niger will be more difficult because of the wheater and physicality of it’s players. We should not expect any favours from them. We have come up with some points from West Africa before. Chad even mocked zambia at one point ” Zambia is a finished giant”, it was wacked 2 nil at its backyard.

  24. Zambia must win or risk their chances of qualification. In sha Allahu Zambia will win . Let’s pray for the players and the team to get their day and luck. God bless Africa.

  25. As usual, they are coming out with an away defeat!! Lol!

The day, Zambia can win two consecutive away matches in any qualifier, they will qualify to the WC and that’s is a remote possibility judging by their abysmal and chronic history of CHOKING IN AWAY MATCHES!

Niger, though very poor, ll still beat this so called BIG TEAM!

Cape Verde, can go to Niger and win but Zambia alone ll choke tomorrow and that’s no understatement!!

    Niger 2, Zambia 1

  26. iam a keen follower of zamfoot..you guys are great and 2day,i hav decided 2join this zamfoot family…i also feel that wat scotch is suggesting is the right way 2go…kudos 2 zamfoot but also we need 2b in touch on watsapp so that mayb, one day,we can watch our mighty chipolopolo in action at levy or heroes stadium to
gether as zamfoot followers…wat do u think gentlemen.my line is +260962873979…Go ZAMBIA GO

  27. Our boys should expect Niger coming out all guns blazing especially in the first 15 mins ,therefore it will be interesting to see how our reshuffled defence will hold without SS.
    My perdition Zambia 3 – Niger 1.

  28. ONLY BONNETI WON AWAY GAMES its a fact that in a long period of time only Dario Bonneti got positive resuilts away from home

  29. Mweene pa bench: that is flirting with danger. Yes, of late he has been conceding silly goals but he is a million and a billion leagues above the second choice and third choice goalkeepers respectively. Zambia plays good attacking football, defending is not our thing… We need the flair that we played with in 2012. By the way, 1994,1996, 2010 and 2012 we played very fast attacking football like a european team.

  30. Zamfoot!!!!!!!

All the best to the team. My problem is that we have a coach who doesn’t know what he is doing. We will be very lucky if we make it to Morocco 2015. JANZA lacks confidence and he is very slow in reacting to the game. He believes in half time talk. Now with the new assistant, if we win, he shall be totally exposed.

    Anyway, welcome back Zamfoot.

  31. Bt some zambians are crazy they feel its normal 4 fwayo(“the most undisciplined”) plays in mtendere wif compound boys 2 b given a starting berth wen he shudnt even b included in any zambian syd whether it b the ‘a’ side or ‘b’ side n mayuka(the “Afcon 2012 golden boot winner”) helpd zambia beat ghana at a crucial tym wen zambia wr outplayd,hu plays in a top league gets named on the bench 5 games continously n den dey boast of afcon 2012 while nt appreciating ppl hu made it possible fwayo, mukuka, jacob mulenga these ppl wr nt even in the picture n honestly hu changes a winning formula,hu uses a bread knife 2 cut a goat instead of sharp regularly used knife u’ve got a complete player in mayuka bt no u want 2 jst keep on using the bread knife dat mayb it will work mayb it will work..idiots 4 sure..

  32. Great is our Team and it must rise like an eagle … we must smile this October and always … remember our Jubilee is about freedom indeed …. Shalom upon our Nation.

  33. Christohpher Munthali, too slow; game lost! James Chamanga is just a passenger. Singamula is a ball to head type of player but is played out of position and is forced to play from the weakest part of his game; ball to feet. Felix Katongo is more effective than Chamanga.

  34. Well, well, well . . I see the site has been refurbished. For quite a while I and my friend Frank Nonde had been having problems logging onto the site. Testing one, two, one, two…… Let me first clear my throat. ALL THE BEST ZAMBIA!

  35. Welcome back Zamfoot and good luck to the Chipolopolo. Niger is not a tough task, Zambians can handle this one nicely. Don’t disappoint me guys….

  36. The long awaited day has finally arrived. What more can We expect than a win for Zambia in Niger.I just hope the CHIPOLOPOLO WIN and the women win in Namibia. With Zambians in Botswana celebrating the Golden jubilee today with DANNY kaya as the guest musician all the way from ZAMBIA,We cant afford to lose this game,Chamanga will surely score at least 2 goals.

  37. Bloggers lets forget about qualifying for morocco 2015, for now let’s just wait team yaba kulu to end so that the new faz president will advertising for the national team coach

  38. Sometimes ignorance makes people blind; how do u surely propose Munyao who is a bench warmer at simple arrows for the starting berth in goal when Mweene is an obvious starter at the more competitive sundowns fc? It is either personal hatred has crippled our game or many fans do not follow Zambian football at all.
