Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Super Division side NAPSA Stars Football Club’s newly appointed first assistant coach Chintu Kampamba is humbled and elated to have joined the Pensioners.
Speaking in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew during his unveiling, Kampamba said that he is thankful to NAPSA and he feels he will add value to the team.
“Am grateful to have been chosen as the best from the panel that came for interviews, am happy to be part of the NAPSA family because I feel I will add value to the team,” he said.
The former Chipolopolo Boys defender said that the target is to push the team to the group stages of the CAF Confederations cup and possibly fight to reach the finals.
“NAPSA Stars as a club has achieved a lot and they are playing continental games, they need to push to get through to the group stage, and also if we can reach the finals it will be a great plus.”
The 2021 AFCON winner also added that the Pensioners have what it takes to turn the tables around in the local league and he has urged the team to be consistent in winning games.
“NAPSA performance last season was excellent, we almost won the league and we have about 19 games to play so it’s not too late, we can turn the tables around because we are not far from the top teams we just have to be consistent and win games.”
Kampamba further said that he hopes the knowledge he has will add value to the team.
“There is already a qualified technical bench at the club, am bringing the knowledge that I have and hopefully that may add value to the team.”
Kampamba’s first assignment on the NAPSA technical bench will be an away match week 15 fixture in Choma against Green Eagles this weekend.
