Chilufya puts in a 74-minute shift for Djurgadens IF in the season opener

Coach Kim Bergstrand named the Mphande Youth Academy product in his starting line up.

Chilufya started on the right-wing while 28-year-old Swedish midfielder Jonathan Ring was deployed on the left wing with Kosovo born Albanian attacker Astrit Ajdarević partnering Emir Kujović upfront.

The 2017 U-20 AFCON winner put in a 74-minute shift before being withdrawn for 28-year-old Swedish attacker Nicklas Bärkroth.

THE GOALS

The first few minutes lacked any real creativity from the two sides. Djurgadens IF finally broke the deadlock in the 24th minute after Erik Berg headed home Aslak Fonn Witry’s free-kick.

Second-half substitute Oscar Pettersson added a second three minutes to full time after meeting Haris Radetinac’s goal-bound shot at the far post to easily slot home from close goal-bound secure a 2-0 nil victory.

Chilufya’s compatriot, Emmanuel Banda who joined the Swedish outfit back in February when he penned a three-year deal will have to wait to make his debut as he missed out on the matchday squad.

The defending Champions next game is at home on Wednesday when they welcome Örebro.
