Goalkeeper Cyril Mwenya Chibwe and midfielder Prince Mumba will miss this afternoon’s first leg of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier between Zambia and Mozambique.
The duo were in a race for a late fitness test after having picked up minor injuries and had light training yesterday when the team had a feel of the match venue, the Estadio Do Zimpeto.
Chipolopolo Boys head coach Aljosa Asanovic has confirmed that the duo have joined Spencer Sautu on the list of injured players.
“No, they have injuries, even Sautu but we have enough players, am sure the other guys will give 100 percent,” he said.
“We are always looking at a positive result. We are focused on this game and our energy is on a high level and thinking about a good result.”
Zambia and Mozambique will kick off their two-legged contest this afternoon before concluding their battle on July 30 in Lusaka at the National Heroes Stadium.
Kickoff time is 15:00 hours (CAT).
Winner over two legs will face Malawi in the final qualifying round.
