Caretaker Chipolopolo Boys Coach George Lwandamina took charge of the CHAN Squad on Wednesday morning in a friendly match against Lusaka’s Circuit City.
With Boyd M’kandawire and Toaster Nsabata dropped and axed from the team, Lwandamina had Dauti Musekwa, Buchizya Mfune, Chris Munthali and the impressive Stephen Kabamba in front of Jacob Banda.
In midfield, Lwandamina gave a hint that Zambia will be more defensive and compact with Green Buffaloes centre back Adrian Chama in a midfield three also comprising of Benson Sakala and Isaac Chansa, with the latter more advanced behind Chris Katongo as a lone striker.
On the flanks, Mwape ‘Tozizi’ Mwelwa, was deployed out of position in the left and the left footed Mwila Phiri Jnr on the other end.
In the first quarter and half, with the ‘team A’ playing Zambia only managed one shot on target until Phiri opened the scores.
Then came what Football House officials call the ‘Under-5s’ as the likes of Conlyde Luchanga, Patson Daka, Spencer Sautu and Jack Chirwa came.
Zambia grabbed the second goal courtesy of a Clatus Chama strike.
Third choice goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga was introduced as an out field player.

go zambia go
the squad is strong we can win the competion
I dnt like the system of 3 defensive midfieders
This squad can do better if it will be tactically motivated by the coaches….
2 goals only !against a second side !This only proves that the frontline is not sharp enough !
playing defenders in midfield, its killing our game. Ba george he is used playing kondwani, chaila o justine in the midfield
Imagine we are already defending way before the tournament begins, ni kwa George
We have a very big problem in front, strikers to be precise its never too late to include moses phiri
A BIG problem with our strikers, you will see…
Katongo can’t play well now as a lone striker energy is gone
I am happy that kabamba and musekwa made it. Let them prove that they can do then they will play in qualification games
The team they played is divion 3 FAZ and they have just been promoted from Amarture.More work is needed.
The boys definitly need to work hard if they want to make this great nation proud
Yes, Chris is not as sharp as before. He should be given the role of a Standing 9. Not much running but taking strategically intelligent positions when the wingers and midfielders are in control of the round object. These guys should also be monitoring the moves of Chris. Effective co-ordination of all their efforts will bring the good in all of them. TEAM WORK, TEAM WORK, TEAM WORK. Nothing but TEAM WORK
Chris Katongo finished in 2013. Renard was almost dropping him then. Without much exertion Chris will flop at Chan mark my words! Currently the chap can’t run, can’t pass the ball accurately. He will b benched and end up doing what he knows best; sneak in a bitch!
