Chambishi edge Nkana to record first win as Forest and Buffaloes share spoils

Chambishi FC finally got their first win of the season as they continued their dominance over record 13 time Champions, Nkana.

Chambishi were winless heading into Sunday’s game but made a daring statement on their social media handle (our next game will be our first win) and true to their word they edged Nkana 2-1 at Nkana Stadium.

Chambishi drew first blood in the 27th minute with Andy Boyeli scoring in the 27th minute.

Nkana drew level through new forward Tresor Ndaya seven minutes into the second stanza but Chambishi went ahead again five minutes later through Chabala Kasanda.

2-1 the match finished, The win means Chambishi has beaten Nkana four  in four of their last five meetings.

In Ndola, after a very interesting hype on Social media, Forest Rangers and Green Buffaloes played out to a goalless draw.

Forest Rangers boss Ian Bakala believes the strikers in the league need to improve as they are not doing enough at the moment.

“It’s a fair result, Buffaloes are very well equipped and are playing good football but again we had chances where we could have scored and we need to work on that. The games are getting tougher , we need to create more chances and give our strikers some movements they are not doing,” he said.

“Generally in the league strikers are sleeping a bit and it’s our job as coaches to work on them because when we look at the national team, I think they need to improve.”

Meanwhile Masauso Tembo was left happy with a point but he wants the perceived smaller teams to reduce the gap between them and the big boys.

“Looking at what Forest Rangers have done under Ian Bakala they are playing good football and it was not an easy game . The last time we met they humiliated us, 5-0 but a point away is a positive am happy with what my Boys did,” he said.

“So far so good it is work in progress, we have our own plan. We go back to training and keep working, we have to close the gap created by the teams that are doing well.”
