Chambeshi names youthful 22 member squad for Morocco camp

Zambia national team head coach Beston Chambeshi has named a 22 member local squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mauritania and Tunisia.

The 2017 U-20 AFCON winner has roped in five players from the continental conquering class he took to the World Cup led by ZESCO United defender Solomon Sakala.

Others include Zanaco’s Boyd Musonda, Prosper Chiluya, Harrison Chisala, and Ngosa Sunzu. Chambeshi has also included Kabwe Warriors’ Prince Mumba, Young Jimmy Mukeya from NAPSA Stars, and U-17 skipper Miguel Chaiwa.

Other notable players in the team include unattached Rodrick Kabwe, Benson Sakala, Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, Spencer Sautu, Dominic Chanda, and Gregory Sanjase.

The team will travel to Morocco this evening for a 10-day camp in Marrakech were foreign based players are expected to join directly ahead of the two crucial World Cup qualifiers.

The Chipolopolo are away to Mauritania on September 3 before hosting Tunisia at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium four days later in Group B clashes.

  1. Good team selection though non of them is fit to play for the world cup qualifier. An experiment will be disaster to the nation.
