Chambeshi gunning for maximum points against Equatorial Guinea

Zambia coach Beston Chambeshi has declared his boys ready for Thursday’s FIFA 2021 World Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea at Estadio de Malabo.

Speaking after Wednesday morning’s training session in Douala, Cameroon, the 61 year old coach said the team will be gunning for maximum points tomorrow.

Chambeshi, who also doubles as Nkana coach has been impressed with the team’s work ethic at their training base in Cameroon.

“The boys have been working hard, We are looking forward to tomorrow’s game,” he said.

The Copper bullets need to collect maximum points to stay in touch with Group B leaders Tunisia who will be hosting Mauritania in Tunis at 21h00 CAT on Thursday.

Chambeshi also revealed that his players have adapted well in Cameroon.

“I think the weather here in Cameron is the same like the one in Equatorial Guinea. We have adapted,” the Chipolopolo boss said before the team’s departure to Malabo.

“All we just need is to go and play the game and collect maximum points.

Zambia face Equatorial Guinea in back to back World Cup qualifiers. The 2012 African Champions will host Equatorial Guinea at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium on Sunday with kickoff at 18h00 and the both games will be live on ZNBC.

Chambeshi will be without the quartet Enock Mwepu and Evans Kangwa through injury while Swedish based duo Emmanuel Banda and Edward Chilufya were denied entry visas.

On the injured duo Enock Mwepu and Evans Kangwa, Chambeshi is confident that his technical bench will find replacements.

“You look at Mwepu and Evans Kangwa, these are players who have been with us and are important to our team.
But if something has happened, we just have to look for replacement within the team.”
