Chamanga braces Arrows to victory over Zanaco

James Chamanga scored a brace to guide, Red Arrows to a 2-1 win over Sensational ZANACO in a rescheduled week 13 tie this afternoon at Sunset Stadium.

The Airmen came from behind to score twice and seal a place in the ABSA Cup at the expense of the Bankers. The match brought back a lot of 2012 memories as Chamanga and Chisamba found the back of the net.

The hosts opened the scores in the 27th minute, Chisamba Lungu with a cracker from long range to put the Bankers in the lead.

The lead however only lasted 12 minutes as Chamanga beat defenders before curling the ball past Charles Lawi in the Zanaco goal to level matters 1-1.

Chamanga struck again with another fine finish in the second stanza to seal a well deserved 2-1 win for the Airmen.

The win takes the Airmen to second place with 29 points just a point shy of log leaders Green Buffaloes and they have played a game less.

Chisi Mbewe’s men have also now recorded six straight wins in the league.

Zanaco on the other hand remain 11th on the log with 22 points from 17 games.
