Chama optimistic ahead of back to back AFCON qualifiers

Tanzanian-based duo of Clatous Chama and Rally Bwalya on Thursday afternoon jetted in for the crucial AFCON Qualifiers against Algeria and Zimbabwe.

Speaking on arrival at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Thursday, Chama, popularly known as ‘Tripple C’ expressed his gratitude to be among the players called to camp.

“Thank you so much for the welcome. And thank you so much to the Coach for the opportunity to be part of the games which we are going to play,” Chama humbly said.

Chama went on to echo the importance of these two games.

“Just as you have said, these games are very crucial. But what we believe is that nothing is impossible. So we have come to work. We just need to be united, focused, and dedicated to making our nation happy,” Chama alluded.

When quizzed about what he brings to the table, Tripple C gave a modest response.

“There is a number of qualities. But it all depends on the role and requirements of the Coach. How he wants us to play as a team. Then as an individual, you also apply yourself. Otherwise, we have to remain united as I have said and work towards one goal,” Chama concluded.

On transferring his good club foam this season with Simba and approach to blending with his teammates called to camp, Chama spoke of familiarity with most of them.

“For most of them, it won’t be the first time, just a few to play with them at the national level. But I have played with most of them. It’s a good advantage for all of us as a team. And once we coordinate, I think we have better chances.” Chama closed.
