The Central Province FAZ Women’s league has clinched a big sponsorship deal with seed company, Afriseed.
AfriSeed and the Central Province Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) on Saturday morning signed a sponsorship deal worth around K1.3 million over a three-year period at the Urban Bliss Hotel in Kabwe.
The Central Province Woman’s League is expected to receive close to 400,000 a year from this deal.
The Singing of the agreement is a positive starting point for the women’s league as this new development will give life back into the league.
With districts such as Chibombo, Chitambo,Chisamba,Chiyubwuji and Luwanu that have never had women’s teams are targetted to benefit from this Sponsorship.
With the establishment of structures in districts it will bring on board the identification of a wide range of talents
Zambia Super League side Kabwe Warriors were invited to the event and have since been motivated with this gesture are set to form a women’s team is by next year.
Central Province FAZ Chairman Chisanga Pule who signed the deal on behalf of the province believes this monumental deal is a starting point and that only the sky is the limit now.
“It’s something very positive for our League, its a starting point . our Women’s League is in it’s infancy and it requires a lot of support . I think with this the sky can only be the limit.
With this sponsorship it sets the platform and the stage where we are going to see more sponsorship and for the men’s leagues too.
It will go a long way in introducing district leagues and with that more talent and we will have a wide pool to chose from,” Pule said.
FAZ Deputy General Secretary Joseph Chimpampwe was also part of the signing ceremony that saw Kabwe Warriors announce the formation of a women’s team
