Can Patson Daka add to his impressive goal tally in Comoros?

IThe Chipolopolo Boys will square off with Comoros on Saturday in the final Group H 2023 Côte D’Ivoire AFCON qualifiers

The match in itself is a dead rubber with the Copper Bullets having already secured their place in the continental showpiece.

However Avram Grant and his players have already set their sights on ending their qualification campaign with a win.

Away from the team winning the game, striker Patson Daka will be looking to continue his fine form at international level.

Despite his troubled club career at the moment, Daka remains Chipolopolo main striker and has been in fine form for the 2012 AFCON winners.

Daka has managed 4 goals so far with only Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Nigeria’a Victor Osihmen scoring more (5) and (7) respectively.

The Kafue Celtic product scored Zambia’s second goal as they thrashed Côte D’Ivoire 3-0 to secure their place at the Africa Cup of Nations which will be hosted by Ivory Coast.

The 24 year old scored in both games against Côte D’Ivoire and also scored a brace against Lesotho away in Johannesburg.

He scored 5 goals in the last qualifiers for the 2021 AFCON as he emerged as joint top scorer with Nigeria’s Victor Osihmen despite missing match day 3 and 4 due to injury.

The Leicester City forward has scored 9 goals in his last 9 AFCON qualifying games.

He has 12 goals for Zambia in total and will be eager to add to that tally.

The 2023 AFCON will be Zambia’s first  appearance since 2015 and 18th overall appearance at the continental showpiece.
