Cameo appearance for Patson Daka in Leicester City’s FA Cup win

Chipolopolo Boys forward Patson Daka returned from injury for a cameo in Leicester City’s narrow FA Cup win on Saturday.

Daka limped off in Leicester City’s 2-1 loss in the English Premier League away at Anfield.

The Zambian international came off the bench to replace Jamie Vardy in the 81st minute at the Priestfield Stadium in Gillingham.

Kelechi Iheanacho netted his 16th goal in 22 Emirates FA Cup appearances to seal a 1-0 third-round victory for Leicester City at Gillingham on Saturday.

Iheanacho’s close-range hit 11 minutes into the second period. Leicester’s 55th win at this stage means their name will be in the hat for Sunday’s fourth-round draw.

Next up for Daka and the Foxes is a trip to St. James’ Park to take on Newcastle United in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening at 22:00 hrs CAT.

An East Midlands derby then awaits on Saturday – away at Nottingham Forest – in the Premier League with kick off set at 17:00 hrs.
