Zesco United came from 2-1 down to beat Jwaneng Galaxy 4-3 in the first leg of the second round of CAF Confederations Cup in Ndola on Saturday.
Thabang Vincent Sesinyi put Jwaneng Galaxy in the lead just 15 minutes into the match with a brilliant header.
ZESCO United were back level in the 26th minute as Amine Hiver who had earlier been denied a goal by an offside flag pulled Zegalicious level with a close range finish after Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba did some fine work dribbling a defender and the goalkeeper.
The visitors were back in the lead four minutes later as Philip Sakauta made a blunder and Sesinyi was on hand to slot home from close range.
Zegalicious were awarded a penalty just before halftime after a Jwaneng Galaxy player handled the ball inside the box, Hiver stepped up and dispatched it with ease, 2-2.
Substitute Pascal Phiri took over the show, he first set up Kabaso Chongo with a brilliant cross and the latter headed in from close range to make it 3-2.
Phiri then dribbled his way into the box then set up Chilongoshi who tapped in from the line to make it 4-2.
Chico Molefe reduced the deficit further as he netted Galaxy’s third goal with a powerful shot from the edge of the box.
ZESCO held on to win the match 4-3 ahead of the second leg set for Botswana next Saturday.
