CAF slot advantage to Zanaco after cashing out Zesco

Zanaco demolished Zesco United to consolidate CAF Confederation Cup slot as they went six points clear off third placed Power Dynamos who play on Sunday.

With a game to go, the bankers can’t afford to lose it as they boast a superior goal difference.

The league title guaranteed and secured for Zesco Utd, it was the Lusaka side which had to deliver and they did with a three star first performance.

Aubrey Funga gave the bankers the lead before Moses Phiri doubled it and Boyd Musonda curled in a superb freekick.

After the break, Phiri added the fourth to send the travelling into wild celebrations.

Elsewhere, bottom placed National Assembly could only manage a 1-1 stalemate with Lusaka Dynamos in a mini capital derby while Red Arrows lost 3-1 at home to Nakambala who moved out of the relegation zone.

There was a Barclays Cup rehearsal at Edwin Imboela as Nkwazi and Green Buffaloes played to a 2-2 stalemate.

Results:
Zesco United 0-4 Zanaco;
Red Arrows 1-3 Nakambala;
Nkwazi 2-2 Buffaloes;
Assembly 1-1 Lusaka Dynamos.

    • I watched real nakonde vs roan united in nakonde and the game ended 0-0.the referee from nakonde was pathetic he was favoring real nakonde from the first whistle to the last whistle.this old man had a son playing for nakonde in this match.Zambian football will never develop with such kind of officiating. he is the only one officiating home games for nakonde and no team has beaten nakonde at home since they were promoted to division one.shame shame shame
