CAF CONFED CUP: ZANACO GAFFER OPTIMISTIC AHEAD OF THE SECOND LEG

Sensational Zanaco head coach Chris Kaunda is still optimistic his team can turn things around in Egypt despite suffering a humiliating 3-0 defeat in the first leg.

Kaunda believes anything is possible given that the two sides have only played 90 minutes and have another ninety minutes of football to play.

The former Nkwazi gaffer was also quick to ask the fans to remain behind the Bankers and support them and pray for them.

“We would love to thank the people of Zambia for the support they gave us and we hope to pay back but I know it’s a big mountain to climb, Only God knows what’s expected of us but nothing is impossible,” Kaunda told the ZamFoot Crew.

“The same way they came to win here we can also win. What we need is the support from the people back home, their prayers will help up because we are not going there as Zanaco but as Zambia.”

“People are thinking it’s over but we have only played the first half we going to play the second half,” he added.

Zanaco head into the second leg with a 3 goal deficit having lost 3-0 at home in the first leg last Sunday.

Goals from Ali Gabr, Mohamed Farouk and Abdalla El-Saed ensured the Egyptian side took an emphatic three-goal advantage ahead of Sunday’s second leg.

Pyramids will host the Bankers in the second leg on Sunday, 8th March at 15:00hrs at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in al-Qāhirah, Cairo.
