CAF CC: Nkana off to Tanzania

Zambia’s envoys in the CAF Confederation Cup Nkana has left for Tanzania ahead of Sunday’s matchday 3 clash against Namungo.

The defending Zambia Super League Champions flew out from Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport at 11:00hrs aboard a ZAF chartered plane.

Nkana however will be without Fred Tshimenga, Patrick Gondwe, and Simon Mulenga who are out nursing injuries.

Head coach Kelvin Kaindu says his team is prepared for the match and he believes his team still has slight hope of qualifying for the next round.

“The preparations are okay despite the setback on Fred Tshimenga who is still out, It’s unfortunate that we lost Simon from yesterday’s game. We will also be missing Patrick Gondwe,” he said.

“We have a limited number of players because even the new players who played yesterday are still not yet registered.”

“For us to have some hope we need to pick up points in this game, If we can pick three points away, the other two teams are already on six points. There is still a bit of hope but we need to build up our confidence,” he added.

Left Back Emmanuel Mbola, Ivorian midfielder Djeni Koassi, Tanzanian Striker Eliud Embokile and Zimbabwean midfielder Tichaona Chiphunza who all made their debut for Kalampa yesterday are not available for selection.

The game is set for Sunday, April 4 at the National Stadium in Dar es salaam.

Nkana will look to put their poor performance in League behind them and push for their first win of the Campaign.
