Zambia’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup, Nkana will this evening be in action as they seek redemption following the loss they suffered on matchday one.
The 13-time record Super League Champions, host the Green Eagles, Raja Casablanca in a matchday two clash with a win as the only thing on their minds having lost on matchday one away in Egypt.
Raja Casablanca head coach Jamal Sellami expects a tough match against Nkana this evening but he believes they have enough experience and quality in the team to win the match.
“For us it’s an important game, Nkana lost their first game in Egypt so it will be a tough game, We will try to get maximum points because it will be important for us. We have experience and some good players and we will try to get a good result,” Sallami told the ZamFoot Crew.
Meanwhile, Nkana coach Kelvin Kaindu believes playing Raja Athletic De Casablanca under floodlights will give the Moroccans a slight advantage.
“We are not used to playing at Levy, and it’s not just playing at Levy, it is also the kickoff time. I think in our Zambian League, we don’t play at 18:00 we play at 15:00. We are playing a team that is coming from North Africa. Their leagues usually play around 18:00 which will be to their advantage. We don’t play under floodlights. It comes with a lot of costs for a team that is going to train under floodlights. That’s the challenge that we have but if CAF has said we have to do that, we just have to adjust and probably focus on that time and the game itself,” Kaindu told Zambia Daily Mail.
Nkana suffered a 3-0 loss away to Pyramids FC on matchday one and will be looking to record their first win of the group stage. Nkana has a record of never having lost at home to protect though they are playing away from their turf, Nkana Stadium.
Meanwhile the Green Devils, Raja Casablanca have only lost once in their last ten matches in this competition with five wins and four draws.
Nkana host Raja at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola in the CAF Confederations Cup second Group D match this evening with kickoff set for 18:00.
