Zambia’s representatives in Inaugural COSAFA Women’s Inter-Club Champions League, Green Buffaloes Women’s football club are eying a winning start to their campaign.
Assistant coach Carol Kanyemba Daka says the team has prepared well and will do their best to win the first game this afternoon which is important to how they will go in the tournament.
“We have prepared very well, the only bad part is that we have never watched them but we have worked on our strengths. Since we don’t know their strengths we will work on our strengths and in the first ten minutes, we are sure we will know their playing style and the like,” she said.
” The first game of the tournament is the most important, We need to get maximum points so that the next game is easy. In our group, we are only three hence the first game is really important.”
“A lot of people expect a lot from us so we just have to do our best because we are considered as favorites,” she added.
Buffaloes will however be without several players who tested positive for COVID-19.
The Zambian champions will square off with Black Rhinos this afternoon with kick-off set at 14:00 at the King Zelwathini Stadium before facing Tura Magic 4 days later. Both games will be broadcasted on COSAFA.tv.
The COSAFA Women’s Inter-Club Championship is also a qualifier for the Inaugural 2021 Total Energies CAF Women’s Champions League which will be hosted by Egypt later this year.
