Day two of the 2025 National League Women’s Playoffs delivered thrilling football at Munis Grounds, with teams intensifying their bid for a coveted spot in the ZPL Women’s National League. In Group A, Green Buffaloes Girls FC continued their winning streak, edging Valley Queens 2-1 in an entertaining encounter at Munis A.
Star striker Agness Ondya was instrumental in the win, scoring a brace to secure maximum points for the Lusaka giants. Mary Phiri pulled one back for Valley Queens in the 74th minute, but it was too little, too late for the Eastern Province side.
In the day’s second fixture, Mweenzo Queens Academy earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Chipembele Police Queens, collecting their first points of the tournament in front of a vocal crowd. Kalumbila Queens had a bye in the day’s matches.
In Group B, Pemba Queens put on a dominant display, crushing Mulauli Academy 6-0 in the early kickoff at Munis B. The Southern Province side, known for their attacking flair, took full control of the match, establishing themselves as early Group B favorites.
In the second match of the day, Bwacha Pirates Queens FC claimed a narrow 1-0 win over a spirited Ingwe Girls side, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown with Pemba Queens on Thursday.
The Women’s National League Playoffs continue on Thursday with high-stakes clashes that could shape the final standings in both groups. Only the top two teams from each group will earn promotion to the 2025/26 ZPL Women’s National League.
