Chipolopolo Boys striker Brian Mwila scored a brace to seal Buildcon’s 2-0 win over Zimbabwean side Yaddah on Wednesday.
And the Ndola side will wrap up the tour of Zimbabwe this weekend with a clash against giants Dynamos.
Mwila is back in the Zambian Super League after an unsuccessful stint with South African Premier Soccer league basement side Platinum Stars which was plagued by injuries.
While he failed to find the back of the net at Platinum Stars, ‘The Hammer’ was unplayable on the international scene as he hit an astonishing 8 goals in 10 appearances including a brace against Algeria.
Buildcon featured a host of new signings including left back Lawrence Chungu, centre back pair Isaac Shamujompa and Ben Adama.
Mwila was joined in attack by three times CAF Champions League winner Given Singuluma as well as Chanda Mushili.
The team is expected back home on Sunday.
Their new marque signing Chisamba Lungu will link up with his new teammates on Monday.
The 27 year old returns to the Zambian Super League after a 9 year spell in Eastern Europe.
Chisamba spent two seasons at Zanaco before a career which has seen him play in Georgia, Russia and a brief stint in Turkey.
With the likes of East African trio, Clinton Miheso, Sserukuma and Makwati at the club, the ‘Team Kopala’ are expected to challenge this season for the league title.
The depth and challenges such teams add to our league are a marvel.
Welcome Buildcon.
Buildcon is a star studded team. I hope performances will match all this hype and attention they are getting
Hope buikdcon will challenge two kings Zesco and zanaco wishing u good luck
Buildcon look like a side to watch. With Chisamba Lungu it should also be quite an entertaining team.
Looks like a Zambian version of TP Mazembe in the making. I think teams are finally seeing the idea of building sides with continental football in mind rather than just winning the league.
I would humbly suggest to Kennedy Mweene to join Buildcon before its very late for him. Its already late but not very late
