Bonneti case to come up for hearing again at FIFA

Former Chipolopolo coach Dario Bonneti has not been paid and his case will again come up again at FIFA next week on the 7th of February.

In a statement attributed to the Italian born by the Post, Bonneti who was fired by FAZ soon after qualifying Zambia to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, stated that he did not understand why FAZ did not respect FIFA’s order to pay him and he feared that the charge may affect the national team.

“If FAZ will not pay, FIFA could apply sanctions. I don’t understand why FAZ don’t respect FIFA decisions. I hope the charges will not affect the national team,” Bonneti stated.

Following his dismissal, the Italian coach filed a compensation claim with FIFA, FAZ and the Italian FA, claiming US$1.6 million.

In April 2013, FIFA ruled that FAZ pays Bonneti US$382,000, which he is still waiting for.

  1. Thanks for the update Zamfoot. Yes i hope this wont affect Zambianfootball. But it seems we are intent on learning the hard way.

I remember twice saying before he was hired put a clause to kick him out when needed in the contract, i said that because when we knew RB was pushing him in and not Faz. Ah well.

  2. Kalusha is a stubborn brute bonetti was a good coach and unjustly fired. Kalu should immediately pay this man. Kalusha should advertise the national team job. Janza has failed the nation after that afcon exit. He self inflicted failure on us with a poor team selection. We need a new European coach now.

  3. KALUSHA BWALYA IS A CORRUPT CHARACTER who should not be in charge of FAZ. He has to go. Bonetti was one of the best coaches we have ever had and he fired him just after qualifying the team to AFCON 2012.We need fresh minds at FAZ as Kalusha has no heart for Zambian football.
