Big ZESCO United move excites Chipyoka Songa

New ZESCO United acquisition winger Chipyoka Songa has expressed excitement with his move to the Ndola based outfit.

Songa says it is a big achievement to join a big team like ZESCO United.

The 18-year-old is relishing the chance to learn from experienced players and he believes the experience he gathered from Lusaka Dynamos where he spent the last two seasons on loan will help him succeed.

Songa believes the availability of fellow young players like Kasoma Luwawa and Enock Sakala Jnr will be of great help as he has seen them mature in their football.

“I feel very excited and happy because this is a great achievement. Everyone knows that ZESCO United is a big club in Africa. I am very much excited,” Songa told the club’s official website.

“I will try to gather everything that I learnt from Lusaka Dynamos. They gave me a good platform to showcase my skills. As such everything that I have learnt I will use to build on what I will learn here.

There will always be pressure in football. I just need to push myself and of course rely on the support from the senior players. It is not easy but am looking forward to the experience.”

“There is Enock, Luwawa and the rest. They are my friends from the national team. I have a great opportunity to compete with them. I have seen what they have done and matured in football,” he added.

The Zambia U-20 star has penned a four-year deal with the Ndola-based outfit from Shamuel Academy facilitated by Agent Nir Karin.

Songa spent the last two seasons on loan at now relegated Lusaka Dynamos and was the one positive about Lusaka Dynamos in the first half of the 2021/2022 season.
