Eden University National First Division side, Kansanshi Dynamos head coach Beston ‘Quicksilver’ Chambeshi has resigned from his post with immediate effect.
And the ZamFoot Crew understands that the CAF Under-20 African Cup of Nations winning coach is heading to Musa Kasonka Stadium were he will be unveiled as Forest Rangers coach.
The Zambia and Nkana legend is set to take over from Tenant Chilumba.
According to a statement by Kansanshi Dynamos General Secretary Francis Malama made available to the ZamFoot Crew, Chambeshi’s resignation has been accepted by the club who have since wished him well in his future endeavors.
“Mr. Beston Chambeshi has resigned from the position of Kansanshi Dynamos head coach with effect from 17th April 2021. He was engaged as head coach in December 2019.
Kansanshi Dynamos football club has accepted his resignation and wishes him well in his future career prospects and further wishes the remaining technical bench all the nest in their future games.”
John Munkonje will now head the technical bench assisted by Gift Kampamba, Kelvin Sichinga, and Kaoma Chilubanama.
Chambeshi was a member of the famed Zambia’s Seoul 1988 Olympics squad which reached the quarter finals.
The Mufulira native also had a stellar playing career which saw him win multiple league titles at Kitwe giants Nkana.
He has also won a league title as a coach at Nkana.
On the international scene, he guided the Patson Daka led ‘Bola na lesa’ boys to glory on home soil in 2017 as Zambia claimed its first ever junior championship title.
Chambeshi went on to guide the Zambia Under-20 to the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup in Korea.
George Lwandamina is other Zambian to have coached at a World Cup.
