Zambia Women’s National captain Barbra Banda will join her new teammates next month after taking part in the final round of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers.
Banda recently joined USA National Women’s Soccer League side Orlando Pride on a four year deal from Shanghai Shengli.
Banda joined the Pride following a $740,000 transfer fee making the second most expensive female football player in history behind teammate Rachel Kundananji.
In total, the Pride’s signing of Banda will mark one of the largest all-in investments on a player in National Women’s Soccer League history.
Banda is waiting for the receipt of her P-1 Visa before she can head to the United States.
Banda is currently in China and will take part in a farewell match on 23rd March to properly say her good-byes to the fans.
Banda will then trek to Ndola for the Copper Queens’ two legged tie against Morocco.
Zambia will host Morocco on 5th April at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium at 19h00 before facing the Atlas Lionesses away in Rabat on 9th April.
Banda is expected to be one of the highest paid players in the National Women’s Soccer League.
Banda’s deal includes a number of incentives and bonuses which makes it one of the biggest investments in Women’s Football.

Congratulations to her. Say goodbye with a hatrick.
Score a hatrick against Morrocco in the first game and a brace in the second.
Start your new journey with another hatrick.
That will be a huge statement…
