Barbra Banda on target in China

Copper Queens skipper Barbra Banda returned to the scoresheet in the Chinese Taiping Women’s Super League.

Banda scored Shanghai Shengli’s first goal in their 3-2 win over log leaders Wuhan Jiangda on Tuesday morning.

Banda leveled matters just two minutes into the second half after Nigerian forward Desiree Oparanozie had put the hosts in the lead.

Zhang Xin and  Yangying made it 2-1 and 3-1 respectively before Temwa Chawinga could score the hosts second and provide a nervy ending to the match.

Banda however had to be taken off early as a precaution after feeling some pain following a nasty challenge.

Banda haa scored three goals and set up another three seven matches she has played this season having misses the first half due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

The win means, Shanghai Shengli move up to fourth place with 26 points with a game left to play before the end of the season.
