Back with a bang! Emmanuel Banda nets hat-trick on return from injury

Chipolopolo midfielder Emmanuel Banda last evening announced his return from injury by netting a hat-trick for his Belgain side KV Oostende second team in their 5 – 3 loss to Zulte Waregem.

Banda was last named in a match-day squad in May this year and has not seen any club action this season.

But he was handed a start in the second team and the midfielder did not disappoint scoring three times.

“I featured for the KV Ostend second team in a match against Zulte Waregem and I scored a hat-trick after being out of action due to an injury with the game ending 5-3 in favor of Zulte Waregem”.

“Despite losing the match, I feel good to be back on the score sheet,” he said after the match.

The 20 year old made 11 league appearances for his club in his first season in Belgium last year scoring one goal.

  1. Now that’s the way to announce your return. No doubt the manager will come calling you to the first team. For a midfielder, a hat trick in a competitive match is something to really be proud of. Keep the good work Ema!

    • The coach was in Belgium, he saw in in training, he saw him play, what else do you want the coach to assess him for, let the boy settle down and cement his place in the first team, he is just coming from injury lay off.

      • My thoughts as well. Let him regain full fitness and a place in his club’s first team. Then he can be called. We have enough ‘ammunition’ to beat Namibia.
