Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant says it will be important for the Chipolopolo Boys to start their AFCON campaign in the best way possible.
The Chipolopolo face DR Congo tomorrow in a Group F encounter at the Laurent Pokou at 22:00 hours (Zambian Time).
Grant also recognized the opponents as a tough side with very good players.
“The game is important, the tournament will be important, nothing will be decided after the first game, but it is important to open the tournament in the best way we can,” Grant said.
“I think we are in a very tough group and our first opponents (Congo DR) are a very good team.”
“DR Congo is a very good side with good players. We try to play as a team, which is our strength. We know how they play and they also know how we play. We will not change much, we will stick to our game,” he added.
Zambia will be playing their first match at the continental showpiece in close to a decade after missing the last three editions.
Zambia won the 2012 edition and we’re runners up in 1974 and 1994 and came out third in 1982, 1990 and 1996.
