Forest Rangers starlet Austin Muwowo has not signed any contract with a named South African football club, The ZamFoot Crew can reveal.
Social media reports have linked the Nkana on loan winger to Forest Rangers with a move to South Africa’s top side Orlando Pirates however his manager Nawa Nyambe has refuted the reports.
Nyambe told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview that Pirates are among 11 teams that have shown interest in the player but nothing has been agreed yet as Austin remains contracted to Nkana.
“Contrary to reports, Austin is here with me in Ndola. Neither him nor me has flown to South Africa. Orlando Pirates may have shown in interest in him just like 10 other Clubs have done. But he has 7 months remaining on his contract with Nkana. So for now we will have to wait for the league to end and probably even the COSAFA Championship then evaluate the best possible move. His sole concentration at the moment is Forest Rangers,” He said.
Muwowo has been a revelation this season under Perry Mutapa at Forest Rangers scoring 10 goals and assisting 8 times and is regarded by many fans as the player of the season.
Muwowo’s contract with Nkana will come to an end in December with a number of clubs ( Europe, South Africa and Zambia) keen to land the 24 year old skilful play maker.
