Arrows win four team tournament

Red Arrows thrashed ZESCO United 3-0 to win the Four Team tournament with a 100 percent winning record.

Joseph Phiri struck twice from the penalty spot while George Mandu scored the other goal.

Green Eagles came out second after beating Sensational Zanaco 2-0. The Bankers finished bottom without a goal.

The Airmen boss Chisi Mbewe was left satisfied with his players performance in the tournament.

“We are happy with how we have performed in this tournament. We are working with the match fitness of the players and the gellying of the new players who have come into the team and i’m happy with how they are coming up,” he said.

“We have to work extra hard because we are the Champions. We just have to prepare and be ready.”

“I think the most important thing is the depth of the team and we added a lot of new players.We have a number of engagements hence we just have to work on how we will rotate the players.”

The Airmen beat Zanaco 1-0 on day one thanks to a Kebson Kamanga free kick before edging Green Eagles 1-0 on Sunday.
