Arrows to be without Chamanga in must-win Simba clash

Zambia’s envoys in the CAF Confederation Cup, Red Arrows will be without 2012 AFCON winner James Chamanga who has accumulated two yellow cards.

The Airmen are coming into this afternoons’ clash with a 3-0 deficit and are in desperate need of a huge win to overturn the result.

Arrows technical director, Oswald Mutapa believes the players who will replace James and Prosper Chiluya who was shown a red card in the first leg will have to who turn up and fit in the big shoes.

“You are all aware that in the first half played in Tanzania we lost. We have been preparing well, the response from the boys has been amazing. Yes , we lost 3-0 but in football, impossible is nothing,” Mutapa told the ZamFoot Crew.

“They beat us in the 90 minutes we can also beat them. It’s a beatable side, there defense is porous, had we concentrated in the first leg and not fallen in the trap of the referee we would have goetten something. Yes we will be missing Prosper (Chiluya) who was shown a red card and the leadership of James Chamanga who accumulated two yellow cards but that’s football someone has to step up and show that they can be counted on.”

The Airmen are aiming for an early goal to unsettle the Tanzanian outfit in the first 20 minutes.

“The way we start the game and the time we score the goal will be key. We need to go out and score in the first 20 minutes to unsettle them. Yes it won’t be easy because we have to score and defend at the same time,” he said.

Bernard Morrison tormented Benedict Chepeshi and his Red Arrows defenders in the first leg of the pre-group stage of CAF Confederations Cup and returns for the second leg this afternoon.

Morrison was involved in all the three goals as he provided an assist and scored a brace.

The match will kick off at 15:00hrs at the National Heroes Stadium and will be live on ZNBC TV.
