Goalkeeper Aisha Gama has joined Queens Sport Academy on a seasonal loan deal from sister club Green Buffaloes Women Football Club.
Gama made her debut for the Royal Girls yesterday and kept a clean sheet as Queens edged Nkwazi Queens 2-nil in a rescheduled 2023/24 FAZ Women’s Super Division Week 2 encounter played at ZNS Rugby Ground in Kabwe courtesy of a goal each from Jackline Pumulo Masenke and Niza Nachula.
During the 2020/21 Eastern Province Women’s League season, Aisha was voted as Provincial Women’s player of the season and her performance did not go unnoticed because in February 2021, she eventually earned herself a maiden Senior Women’s National Team Call-up by Coach Bruce Mwape in the provisional squad that was preparing for the 2021 Turkish Women’s Cup.
Two months later, Aisha was back in the provisional Senior National Team Camp that was preparing for the rescheduled 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Later in the same year, Gama was called up to the Under-20 National Team by Coach Charles Haluboono and she was part of the 2021 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup squad in the qualifiers against Malawi and Ghana.
Gama joined Buffaloes from Chipata Girls in 2022 after an impressive 2020/21 season with the Ndife Tiliko Che Girls helping the team to clinch the Eastern Provincial Women’s League title and earned promotion to the National Women’s League following a good performance during the the Inter-Provincial playoffs held in Lusaka.
At Buffaloes, she travelled with the team to South Africa during the second edition of the 2022 COSAFA Women’s Champions League | CAF Qualifiers and later the same year she made the final team that competed at the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco with the Zambia Army side.
