In this column, Zambianfootball.co.zm takes a look at how Zambian players abroad fared over the weekend for their respective clubs.
Below is a wrap as compiled by the ZamFoot Crew.
South Africa – PSL
As earlier reported, Mpumalanga Black Aces captain Collins Mbesuma scored a brace to take his tally for the season to 10 goals.
Platinum Stars v Free State Stars
Defender Davies Nkausu made his first PSL start for Free State Stars at right back and helped them to a 2-1 win.
Nkausu’s return to the pitch is good news to the Chipolopolo bench.
Free State Stars is 8th on the log with 18 points.
Sundowns v Tuks
Tshwane giants Mamelodi Sundowns beat Tuks 2-1 to reclaim top slot thanks to a better goal difference over Black Aces.
Kennedy Mweene was on the bench. Mweene who is in 7th PSL season with 152 league appearances for both Free State Stars and Sundowns has made just 3 appearances this season compared to last season’s 17. In his first season Sundowns he made 25 appearances.
Forgotten Mukuka Mulenga continues to watch from the stands as he rumoured to be pushing for a move away.
Golden Arrows v Chippa United
Striker Mwape Musonda played for Arrows as they battled to a 1-1 draw. Mwape has made 10 appearances this season with a return of a goal.
PSL ZamFoot Verdict: Five Zambian players in the PSL with only Mbesuma enjoying rich vein of form.

South Africa – National First Division
Amazulu 4-1 Vasco da Gama
Bornwell Mwape and Allan Mukuka started on the bench with the former coming on. Mwape found the scores with still 1-0 in favour of his club Amazulu,
Egypt
Patrick Ngoma‘s Al Ittihad played to a 1-1 draw with Al Masry. The teenage has featu red mainly as a right winger for his club.
With Sate Sate off to Belgium, Emmanuel Mayuka should put pen to paper for Zamalek this week on a three and half year deal.
Big question, will Mayuka return to Europe or end up in South Africa in what would be a ‘Cairo to Cape’ journey?
Gabon – Championnant D1
The Gabonese top flight has been put on recess because of the on-going CHAN tournament in Rwanda.
Former Power Dynamos striker Alex Ng’onga plays for Mounana who are 4th on the log with 16 points but 2 points behind leaders after 8 round of matches.
Congo – Brazaville – Ligue 1
Its a new season in Congo with 2 matches played so far and Winstone Kalengo‘s AC Leopards have drawn both.
They are currently 14th on the a 20 team log.
Zambia face Congo in March in the African Cup qualifiers. While all eyes will be the return of Collins Mbesuma to Brazaville were he scored a hatrick, Kalengo will also be under scrutiny.
DR Congo – Super League
TP Mazembe quartet Rainford Kalaba, Given Singuluma, Kabaso Chongo and Nathan Sinkala have returned to Lubumbashi.
After TP Mazembe coach Carteron left and they should be naming a new coach soon.

Thank u 4 the update, mweene has to look for the new club this january transfer window
I think mweene has a hidden agenda for his career. He probably intends to retire and become a goalie coach . Mbesuma has found his lost form and its up to other zed footballers to play courageously as ‘King David’. They have talent but the play as if they are not certain about their future in football. Fearing the unknown.
kennedy mweene must be serious! he shud find another club in psl ligue. dont be lazy ba kennedy naimwe otherwise u wil be finished.
wel come back Nkausu, we need u for a national duty.
MWe ene should make a move before its too late
why should mweene just sitting on the bench not &he is comfortable about it?he is finishing himself. we depend on him as our goalkeeper &he has to be having more game time
mweene
