Zambian Results During Past AFCON Competitions
Zambia has appeared 14 times at the final stage of the Africa Cup of Nations. They have won it only once, which was not that long ago, in 2012.
The Copper Bullets finished as runners-up twice and ended in third place three times so far.
Unfortunately for them, they missed out on the last three tournaments as they failed to qualify.
AFCON 2015
Zambia finished the 2012 competition in the group stage. They ended as last in Group B without a win, with two draws and a single loss.
AFCON 2013
Zambia needed a win to make it out of the group stage at AFCON 2013 in their last game. Unfortunately, they drew against Burkina Faso by 0:0 and finished third, without a win and only three draws.
AFCON 2012
Zambia made history at the 2012 AFCON by becoming champions for the first time. They defeated the highly favoured Ivory Coast after penalties as Gervinho missed his right-foot shot from the spot.
