The Zambia National team last won an AFCON match in open play at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
Emmanuel Mayuka’s goal against Ghana in the semi finals was the last time the Chipolopolo Boys recorded a victory in open play.
The final was won on post match penalties.
AFCON 2013
Herve Renard’s defending Champions drew all the 3 matches against Nigeria, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso.
Nigeria and Burkina Faso went on to feature in the final with the Super Eagles emerging as Champions.
In 2015 Under Honor Janza the team drew two matches and lost against Tunisia.
Note: Zambia did not qualify for the 2017, 2019 and 2021 editions of the continental showpiece.
