CAF announces new dates for 2025 AFCON in Morocco

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be played in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18 2026, Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe said on Friday.

The tournament will be hosted by Morocco.

The draw for the CAF 2025 AFCON will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa on July 4, 2024 at the Supersport Studios.

“CAF is committed to protecting and advancing the interests of African players playing in clubs in Europe and worldwide,” Motsepe said.

“We will continue to make significant progress in developing and ensuring that African football is globally competitive and amongst the best in the world.”

The qualifiers are set to be played in September, October and November 2024.

Ivory Coast are the defending Champions after they won it on home soil earlier this year.
