Zambia’s 2012 African Cup of Nations legends came head to head with the 2015 Cosafa wining side.

The Chris Katongo captained side beat Bronson Chama’s side 3-2 in an exciting match played at Lusaka’s Toyota Arena on Tuesday.

A brace from the Clifford Mulenga and Noah Chivuta’s goal earned the legends bragging rights.

Coach Honour Janza and his assistant Davies Phiri started with what looked like the A-side.

Goalkeeper Kalililo Kakonje started in goal with Davies Nkausu and Joseph Musonda as full backs.

Kampamba Chintu was roped in the absence of Stopilla Sunzu to partner Hichani Himoonde.

With Nathan Sinkala opting to start the second half, Isaac Chansa was paired with Chisamba Lungu in field with Chris Katongo, Rainford Kalaba, Emmanuel Mayuka and Collins Mbesuma as the front four.

The move of the match was when Chisamba went on a maze run and passed to Kalaba.

Kalaba as usual spotted Mayuka with a sublime pass and the former Kabwe Warriors striker saw his half volley miss the target narrowly.

On the Cosafa 2015 winning side the likes of Webstar Mulenga, Charles Siyingwa, Stanley Nshimbi and Festus Mbewe showed the endurance and tactical know how.

The first half ended goalless.
