ABSA Cup road map ; Road to K800, 000 rich 2024 ABSA Cup unveiledĀ 

The roadmap for the 2024 ABSA Cup has been mapped following the draws held on Wednesday morning at ABSA headquarters in Lusaka. 

The 2024 edition will see the expanded format of the tournament kick off this weekend. 

Provincial teams will square off in the Preliminary stage of the Competition with five winners joining 7 MTN Super League teams and four National Division One sides in the round of 16. 

Two games will take place on Saturday at Nkana Stadium with Mwaimwena Strikers taking on Ndola United while Malalo Police will take on Muchinga Blue Eagles. 

In Lusaka , Sunset Stadium will host a triple header as Mines United of Central Province welcome Southern Province log leaders Riverplate in the early kick off. 

Chirundu United will battle Katete Rangers before Barotse Crocs can square off with Young Kansanshi Dynamos. 

ABSA Bank Zambia this morning also unveiled a new trophy that the winners of the expanded format will lift on May 7th. 

ABSA Bank Zambia have confirmed a total Sponsorship package of K5.5 million which is an increment of 37.5 percent from last year’s K4 million. 

The Winners of the 2024 ABSA Cup will pocket K800, 000, the runners up will get K350,000. The player of the tournament, the top goalscorer and the best goalkeeper will pocket K25,000 each and will be sponsored by ABSA Life. 

The player of the match will walk away with K5,000 in the preliminary stage and K15,000 from the quarter final stage. 

ABSA went on to reveal that Travel subsidies for the participating teams will vary between K15,000 to K30,000.

  2. Comment:football was not only meant for zambians,,mind you insansa kuchinjanya no team goes to a pitch for a loss,,they all target a win at the end of the game…so dont blame zambian footballers or the coach!!!
