Zambia national team head coach Beston Chambeshi last week announced a provisional squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers among the names announced during the press briefing on Wednesday is Lusaka Provincial Division One side player Francis ‘Bubu’ Mutalange.
To some Mutalange is a new name how they are very unfamiliar with hence the ZamFoot takes a look at this newbie. Mutalange is one of the most exciting prospects coming out of Barca Academy Lusaka and has been one of the driving forces behind the Athletico Lusaka team.
Originally a winger, Mutalange has been moved to the left-back position and the youngster has excelled in that position with little difficulty.
He tends to stay on the centerline, towards the touchline and likes to cut in when in possession while in attack so that he can either shoot with his powerful left foot or pass to the best-positioned player and can come back to defend very quickly because of his speed if the team lose possession.
Mutalange is a diminutive, technically gifted, mobile, and fast attacking left-back, who can also be used as a left-winger and attacking midfielder, he is capable of link-up play, positioning, movement, and has the ability to time his attacking runs into space and gets up the flank, as well as the ability to deliver crosses into the box, which allows him to provide assists for teammates.
He was heavily involved in the majority of the goals that Athletico Lusaka scored last season.

However, he is not a tenacious tackler; but his pace and stamina allow him to be very involved in both his team’s offensive and defensive plays, as he can get from one end of the pitch to the other very quickly, often pushing forward to get past players and create scoring opportunities, or tracking back when his team has lost possession.
Despite not playing in his natural position, he is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the Lusaka Province Division 1 League.

Sounds good. All the best!
All the best king bubu, we are supporting you back at home….
