Recalled Chipolopolo defender Emmanuel Mbola and team mate Fwayo Tembo were both in the Hapoel Ra’anana team that lost 1 – 0 to Maccabi Petah over the weekend.
Mbola who was the most capped player in his team last season played the entire game for Ra’anana who are now bottom of the log after losing their two opening matches.
Former Power Dynamos attacker Fwayo started on the bench and was introduced in the 62nd minute as Ra’anana in a bid to boost the attack.
Fwayo has also featured twice for the club.
The Chinese league is on a break until 10th September so there was no action for James Chamanga and Jacob Mulenga’s teams.
In France, Nice picked a point away at Nice in a game Chipolopolo defender only managed to make the bench.
Sunzu has been a constant feature on the bench and has only made one cameo appearance when he was introduced in injury time in the win over Dijon.
In Turkey, Evans Kangwa was not named in the Gaziantepspor team that won 1 – 0 at home against Trabzonspor.
Kangwa has already made one appearance in the two week old league.
In Thailand, the league has taken a break with the games resuming on 10th September.
Noah Chivuta continues to go strong at 32 in the Thai League and he has played 21 times for Nakhon Ratchasima out of 28 games played.
In South Africa, Davies Nkausu played 90 minutes for Free State Stars when they lost away against Chippa United in the season opener.
New Chipolopolo call-up Lewis Macha was also in action for Kazer Chiefs when he came on as a second half substitute in their 2 – 1 loss to Bidvest Wits.
Macha was introduced in the 71st minute.
Mbesuma’s Highland Park is yet to open the season.
In Congo DR, TP Mazembe won the Super Cup on Sunday afternoon after they beat Renaissance FC 3 – 1.
Adama Traore scored all the three goals for Mazembe in a game Rainford Kalaba was named in the starting XI.
Given Singuluma, Jonas Sakuwaha and Kabaso Chongo started on the bench.
Kalaba could not repeat his midweek heroics which saw him score a brace in the CAF Confederations Cup but he provided the assist for the second goal in the 16th minute.
Singuluma was introduced in the 87th minute while Kalaba was replaced in the 71st minute.
Alex Ngonga is still enjoying his break after winning the Gabonese league with Mounana.
As already reported, Lubambo Musonda and Chisamba Lungu were also in action and both scored for their respective clubs.
