Natasha Witika is set to become the first Zambian female footballer to sign a professional contract in Nigeria after agreeing to join Bayelsa Queens from Tiger Queens in Tanzania.
According to the information gathered by the ZamFoot Crew, Witika who was recently on the books of The Tiger Queens put pen to paper and signed a 1-year contract with the Yenagoa based side in Bayelsa State.
The Gloryland Girls campaign in the Elite Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
Witika departed Tanzania in the early hours of today and she’s expected to connect to Nairobi, Kenya before landing in Nigeria to join her new club.
Witika, a product of Tamanga Queens under the hospices of Coach Edson Sialutaba a seasonal coach was a marvel to watch in Tanzania during her stay in Arusha City from Division One upto Super League scoring important goals in both seasons and was the club top goalscorer this season with 10 goals.
She was instrumental last season in the middle of the park as a defensive midfielder when she helped her team earn qualification from Tanzanian Women First Division League (WFDL) to the Serengeti Lite Premier League which is a top tier of Tanzanian football.
Witika also played for ZESCO Ndola Girls on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia before trekking to Tanzania a year ago.
Bayelsa recently emerged as champions and log leaders in the 2021/22 NWFL Premiership Group B with 24 points from 12 games played this season and we’re among the Super 6 alongside second and third-placed teams which are Angels Queens and Delta Queens respectively from their group plus the other top 3 teams from Group A which include log leaders Nasarawa Amazons, runners-up Edo Queens and third-placed Naija Ratels.
